In Transition: The Search for Our Next Long-Term Rabbi

The Board of Directors of the New Reform Temple has begun the process of finding our next long-term Rabbi. We have begun forming a search committee and expect a new Rabbi in place by summer 2012. Our goal is to make the search open and transparent; we welcome the comments, questions and feedback from members outside the search committee.

In the meantime, Rabbi Alan Londy is serving our temple as our interim rabbi. Rabbi Londy comes most recently from Temple Israel of the City of New York where he was a rabbi/rabbi educator. Rabbi Londy has extensive experience in all aspects of rabbinic work. His goal is to help us navigate this period of change in our congregation's history. He will be involved in every aspect of the temple's operations, including helping the congregation to prepare for the new rabbi search.

Rabbi Londy obtained a BA in Near-Eastern Studies from Cornell University and attended the Jewish Theological Seminary of America from which he was ordained in 1983. In addition, he holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Hewbrew Union College in NYC and he has taken extensive courses at the Interim Ministry Network, the only national certification institute for international interim clergy, which is endorsed and recognized by the Central Conference of American Rabbis.

As we embark on a new chapter in the history of the New Reform Temple, we are optimistic about the future of our community. We are committed to ensuring the continuity of all our congregational services and programs. This transition is a challenging but also exciting time: we look forward to new possibilities while remaining steadfast in our core values and beliefs.
